So, I may not be a reliable source because I have only seen the second half of the film on the television, but I want to see the beginning now. What I did see was captivating and intriguing, and revolutionary for the image of the zombie. The typical zombie is mindless and slow, wandering around with their arms stiffly out and their eyes rolled back into their skulls. These zombies are fast and animalistic, and they move around in tsunami waves. They also sense who they should pass the disease on to... but I won't spoil it. Another great thing about this thrilling movie, it has the beautiful Brad Pitt!

Read the book and loved it. From this standpoint, WWZ ist a disappointing mess with cool Left-4-Dead-like zombies and some decent action, but the most shallow plot and an underwhelming Brad Pitt. But when you keep in mind that they basically had to reshoot the entire movie after losing all of the footage, it's pretty impressive what they managed to retrieve. Also, the airplane scene is tense af.

World War Z does have massive problems such as a rushed narrative especially in the contraversional reshot third act, the cinematography uses way too much shakey cam in the setpieces making it hard to enjoy the Zombie attacks and the CGI zombies look terrible in terms of rendering. However, the great acting, it's interesting take on Zombie invasion and Marco Beltrami's gripping score helps this film, like the character of Gerry among the zombies, manages to avoid being consumed.
