Eva Khatchadourian is trying to piece together her life following the "incident". Once a successful travel writer, she is forced to take whatever job comes her way, which of late is as a clerk in a travel agency. She lives a solitary life as people who know about her situation openly shun her, even to the point of violent actions toward her. She, in turn, fosters that solitary life because of the incident, the aftermath of which has turned her into a meek and scared woman. That incident involved her son Kevin Khatchadourian, who is now approaching his eighteenth birthday. Eva and Kevin have always had a troubled relationship, even when he was an infant. Whatever troubles he saw, Franklin, Eva's complacent husband, just attributed it to Kevin being a typical boy. The incident may be seen by both Kevin and Eva as his ultimate act in defiance against his mother.

The term "Should have left well enough alone" certainly applies to this movie. This sequel really didn't need to be made. I get that Eisenberg and Harrelson have worked well together before (Zombieland and the first Now You See Me) but it didn't help this movie at all The movie started out really well but quickly lost steam to the point that Freeman and Ruffalo's story line was more interesting than that of the main characters. The magic faded away even more by the presence of Daniel Radcliffe. Now that Harry Potter is over, he always seems so awkward and out of place in anything he does, and this movie was no exception.

The one true problem with this sequel to 2013's heist extravaganza Now You See Me is the plot. Unlike its predecessor, Now You See Me 2 lacks a captivating storyline and underperforms when it comes to the big reveal. Replacing Isla Fischer's charismatic character with an annoying and disagreeable character like Lula was a terrible mistake that lead to an unnecessary romantic subplot between two of the Horsemen. The antagonist in this movie, portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, was rather likable but his role could've been way better than a foreseeable motive and dad's little henchman. There were a few cool moments that were truly entertaining but as soon as the film is over, there's hardly anything to remember.

Yet another promising movie that just ended up being a confusing "What did I just watch?" film. It was kind of a Hellraiser crossed with Silent Hill style. In fact, I almost expected Pyramid Head to walk past dragging a huge weapon... The acting wasn't bad, but I didn't really feel anything for the characters, they were shallow. It made an attempt to have a storyline but that just got lost in the 'hell' scenes. I have to admit the gore and hell scenes were pretty well done, quite disturbing. but honestly by the time it got to them I was like... how has this only been going an hour?! I feel like I've been watching it for hooours. Ended up being boring and confusing.
