You could plausibly argue somebody was trying to make Walk of Shame a film about slut-shaming. Ironically, it turned out to be a movie that slut-shames as if its life depends on it. Some aspects work, but its humor largely relies on recycling the same unfunny joke (the protagonist, not a sex worker, is mistaken for and treated like one). There are vestiges of smart social commentary, presumably from earlier drafts of the script, but they're hopelessly watered down.

I'm very surprised. Not only is Walk of Shame not a complete fail, it's actually not so bad. The story itself is pretty farfetched (as it sets out to be), but Banks makes you root for her character by adding just enough charm and sweetness to the role. Yes, there are stereotypes and clichés running amok here, but this kind of movie doesn't work without familiar characters.

Walk of Shame was a good, funny, DVD rental movie. Elizabeth Banks is a very likable actor, she brings her A game to the big screen. I just don't get how someone could get lost in LA of all places especially with all the tech products. The best quote from the movie was when the crack dealer tells Elizabeth "you got to accept crack from a crack dealer and you will always be in the crack dealers heart." A good rental to watch once.
