I wanted to like this. I have read all of the original Tom Clancy novels and I expected this to be a deviation, but, it’s an obvious PC low budget schlock. The writing and acting are amateurish. The editing is confusing and the plot makes no sense. I guess after seeing how they made Jim Greer a muslim in the Jack Ryan series, I shouldn’t be surprised about this muddled mess. They don’t even try to make it realistic. A car at the bottom of a river can have its door opened with no effort? I guess the strategy is to throw a few names around from the novel, even though they don’t have any relation to the source material. I wouldn’t waste time on this. I wish I hadn’t. What a disappointment! MBJ was a bad fit, totally unbelievable in this role. If I would have seen this movie before his others, I would have written him off as a terrible actor. Don’t even get me started on his female commanding officer. Her acting sucked as well. Jamie Bell was the only decent actor in the entire thing. On top of the bad acting, the storyline is predictable and didn’t flow at all. I can’t get over how terrible it was. This was a Steven Segal straight to VHS movie.
