The Wrong Missy (2020)

The Wrong Missy isn’t a film I was looking forward to, but the synopsis sounded interesting and I thought I would give it a go. The film, for all intents and purposes, is completely terrible, but I can’t deny that I was intrigued as to where it was going and I was never bored. This raised it slightly to a film which I would definitely not recommend, but I got more out of it than perhaps I should have done. By far the worst element of The Wrong Missy is the script. It was horrendous, and one of the worst screenplays I have seen in the past few years. The dialogue was awful and the characters were extremely annoying. The acting was also pretty bad, but the script didn’t give them anything good to work with. The direction was abysmal, and there were several moments of low-brow humour which didn’t work at all. I had a couple of chuckles, but I spent most of the time with my head in my hands, not believing what I was watching.

It’s fair to say that I have been pretty negative towards The Wrong Missy, but, like I said at the start of this review, I was never bored and I was kind of interested to see where it would end up. As it turned out, nothing happened that wasn’t a major cliché, but at least there were some gorgeous visuals to look at.
 

Because of the positives I mentioned, I am not going at low with my score as this film probably deserves. It’s definitely not one which I recommend, but I have seen worse films from Netflix.
