Michael King (Shane Johnson) doesn’t believe in God or the Devil. Following the sudden death of his wife, Michael decides to make his next film about the search for the existence of the supernatural, making himself the center of the experiment – allowing demonologists, necromancers, and various practitioners of the occult to try the deepest and darkest spells and rituals they can find on him – in the hopes that when they fail, he’ll once and for all have proof that religion, spiritualism, and the paranormal are nothing more than myth. But something does happen. An evil and horrifying force has taken over Michael King. And it will not let him go.

Interesting concept for the first 20 minutes about a man who loses his wife and doesn't believe in God or The Devil so he decides to do a documentary about it and interviewing a group of bizarre individuals and even allowing these people to perform rituals on him. but as the possession begins the rest of the film ends up following the same found footage/scare tactics that simply no longer have the same desired effect that previous effects it once had.

Absolutely loved it. A personal must-own. One of the absolute best possession films because of how it is stylized. There are only a handful like this and like a similar film where a charlatan priest goes around scamming folks into thinking that people need an exorcism when they don't, he soon also had a rude awakening by the end of the film. The film was basically a documentary just like this one. Or mockumentary in this case. I don't know if that's an actual appropriate name for the genre. The first half was skepticism, the second half was fighting the evil. Very entertaining, and done better than the Paranormal Activity series.

So, let me try to make sense of this. A man, who after the sudden death of his wife, loses any sense of faith (which I feel he never had any). To prove that there is no supernatural existence, he videotapes numerous attempts to invoke the spirits, which naturally leads to the whole possession thing. Never mind this whole found footage story is lazy and contrived. The real question is if he is an atheist bent on debunking everything supernatural, why does he only concern himself with the dark arts. I feel no sympathy for a character this stupid.
