The Death of Superman "corrects" what Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice did wrong - and that was adding in way too much ridiculously unnecessary material just to add in filler and keep the movie's length prolonged as well as making Lex Luthor a very boring character. Even so, Batman v Superman cared more about helping multiple superheroes all get spotlight rather than picking one to lead the way. As much as I admire Batman, I'm glad his role here is rather minor in order to pave way for Superman as the star. "The Death of Superman" reverses all that and stands to be one of Superman's more superior animated movies.

It's not perfect, but it gets a lot right. The brutality, the desperation, and the sacrifice. It does it a lot better than Superman: Doomsday did. I wish it had been longer. Hard to contain 9 issues of dismantling the DC Universe and killing its original hero in just 80 minutes. I wish they had kept Doomsday's original emergence too. Some of my favorite panels in comics. Luther is also more weasely than he should be. But they get so much right here that it is forgivable. The sequence with his cape after the fight is amazing. And they are finally doing the Reign of the Supermen next, which is long overdue. I'm looking forward to it. Very well done.

At first when I saw the trailer I didn't like the the new 52 version of all of the characters. I still have it a shot and I have to say that I'm glad I did. The story was true to the comic with some differences. One difference that I loved is that they used the main founders of the justice league in the battle instead of the backup squad like Guy Gardner or Blue Beetle. It really showed how powerful Doomsday can be. It shows that the animated movie team can make a wonderful and true DoS story but Hollywood can just destroy it. Can't wait for Reign of Supermen. Hope part 2 comes soon. A whole lot better than BvS. And better than Superman Doomsday. Bravo DC, bravo!!
