I literally joined Rotten Tomatoes for the SOLE PURPOSE of saying that this was THE WORST MOVIE THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN. It is an abomination. It is awful. It is horrible. There was not a single redeeming quality about this movie. It was the worst thing that I have ever seen. PLEASE DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. Everyone involved with this movie should be banished to Siberia of movie land. Let me be clear, this was the worst movie that I have ever seen. Shame on everyone involved with this movie. Creators of great movies everywhere should be ashamed to be in the same category as this abomination. HORRIBLE!!!!!!! If I haven't been clear enough, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE EVER IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ELSE WITH YOUR HARD EARNED TIME AND MONEY.

There is a part of this movie that is absolutely horrible: the fact that Max has to be ok with a judge fondling his private parts in order to be the hero. Sure, this happens to real dogs in real dog shows, but in this movie the dogs are given voices and personalities, and are therefore as "human" as they can be, so saying that they have to allow themselves to be fondled is a really horrible message to be giving to children of any age. Sure, the story line needed to give the hero a challenge that he'd have to overcome ... so pick something else, there are many other kinds of challenges that could have been used.

This movie is sending kids messages that it's ok to let someone touch your private parts, even when you don't want them to? This is a major theme in the movie - where the dog has to endure unwanted touching in order to advance in a competition and the dog is told to just go to a 'zen' place.Disturbingly, these are similar tactics child abusers use when grooming children-telling them to pretend they are somewhere else, and that they will get a reward for withstanding their discomfort. Children's movies must be held to a higher standard, and must teach children bodily autonomy, the ability to say 'no' and safety, not confusing messages endorsing unwanted genital touching.
