Okay, so we finally gave this silly thing a look via cable recording on the TiVo and it's pretty damned dumb overall, but we had a few laughs with it and my main takeaway was that I want to be so overly wealthy that I can casually give away iPads as gifts to anyone who wanders into my house, even if it may mean I give away a device hosting a sex video that I made with my spouse, just because that seems to be an *incredible place* to be as far as financial success goes, y'know? I mean, there's 'fuck you money' and there's 'oh hey, how's it going, here have a free iPad, just because we met one another' kinda money, y'know?

Though its two leads are charming and it offers a couple of laughs, Sex Tape is a sadly a bit of a misfire which never quite makes the most out of its premise, has a rushed ending and practically points out a few flaws that they the two main characters could've done the whole time meaning they wouldn't have to go through this whole 90 minutes. That might probably earn some nitpicking.

Didn't think I would ever see this because it looked terrible but when one is trapped on a couch and Netflix is available without actually moving... Sex Tapes biggest issue is a weak cartoonish script that seemingly has no levels. The cast is game but they have very little to work with. There are a few funny moments but they are vignettes placed in the movie for comedy not anything that relates to the plot. Extra half star for supporting cast; Kumail Nanjiani, Rob Cordry, Ellie Kemper and Jack Black.
