This movie tries to be Bird Man crossed with The Game and sometimes Fight Club, but falls short, because despite the films message, it never seems to take any risks.The performances are great especially Fran who is fantastic, and despite the narrative cliches it's a pretty original take on an old concept, but the tone always seems to shift and the resolution in the conclusion just seems dumped on you out of nowhere.The score is great as mainly drums and the cinematography especially the tracking shots are really crisp (Birdman like).This movie also felt a little too clean and not gritty enough, the colour pallet should have been a little darker or something, it seemed to clean. This movie was almost a 4 star rating but the ending really dragged it down for me, still the best 2016 movie I've seen in a while
