Never Let Me Go is a surprising film, with a strange blend of sci-fi, mystery, romance, and atrocity that I've never seen before. The film's style, especially in the first act, is quite good and gives the sense it takes place in an alternate, but very real world. The lead actresses play their parts well, as one would expect. The main strike against the film is the lead actor, who is fine, but not on par with his co-stars and it detracts from the tragic strain the film is going for. But overall, Never Let Me Go is a memorable film and is quite good.
Never Let Me Go is a really great and depressing movie that is well-scripted by Alex Garland. Although I barely see Carey Mulligan in any movies, she is really good in this and I want to see her in more movies. Andrew Garfield is amazing in this and Keira Knightley is really good too. The one thing about this that surprised me, was that something about that world was very unsettling, or in a much better term, creepy. I do wish it should've been more creepy, but I was surprised that it even was effective in atmosphere. The love triangle is pretty effective even though I was a bit worried about that, it's well-shot, and it has a great plot in it that would probably get people to reading the book that Never Let Me Go was adapting.
How come I have only seen this movie today? Rarely give this kind of score but this movie totally deserves it. This would be kind of a long read but totally worth your time. First, plot holes, there were few I must admit but those plot holes were overpowered by basically the perfection of this film. Cinematography is on point, actors totally did the magic especially Andrew Garfield in that scene where he was screaming out of anger, sadness, I don't know. That scene was a bomb. And where did the creators of this film find this place? It's totally breathtaking and completely matches the setting of the story. My favorite element of this movie probably would be the cinematography and how the scenes were taken, very eerie yet very sincere in a way. Didn't shed a tear but it's perfect. Will probably grab a book soon.
