I gave this movie a 7 because my wife said 8 and I said 5. Adam Sandler does ONE THING and he doesn’t even do it all that well. He’s only capable of playing one character, the dim witted ignorant screwup who manages by chance to got one thing right one time and as a result is crowned the hero. This movie could have been so much better but it falls way short of its potential primarily because Adam Sandler is the Male Lead and can’t portray anything outside the one character he’s played his entire life. If you enjoy stupid humor and find Adam Sandler funny then you’ll love this movie, if you’re not high on meth then you’ll understand from the opening scene just how stupid the dialogue is. This film is entertaining, fun, and very enjoyable. This is one of those movies where you can just sit back, unwind, and forget about things for about an hour and a half. The acting is great. The script is engaging. The setting is interesting. The whole family can watch this, but I think it would be more alluring to young adults and up. The story is a who-done-it with some low level comedy mixed in. I enjoyed this movie so much that I’m hoping that there will be a sequel. I don’t know, but the way that this film ends…..there could easily be a continuation to Nick and Audrey’s story. So far, this is one of my favorite movies this year.

It took me 4 tries over a week to finish the movie and trust me it was not worth the effort. Adam Sandler was one dimensional as usual and annoying as ever. I should have known when I saw his name on the billboard that it would be a major strain to watch. Jennifer Aniston was not much better in the acting department and seemed to be going through the motions for the majority of the movie. She should have just phoned in her lines and let them use an avatar in her place. 

I live in hope that she does something along the lines of Derailed or Management which were her better movies but she persists in doing these “RomCom” loads of crap best left to younger women. She is long passed playing the hot love interest. As for IMDB ratings/scores the 8, 9 and 10 are either brain dead, early teens or studio hacks trying to boost scores for a truly rubbish movie. IMDB needs to manage their rating system like they do in sporting events where you have multiple judges scoring an athlete – automatically delete/disregard the two highest and two lowest scores to get rid of bias. I give the movie a 5 for location/s …….. and deduct 3 for bad acting, woeful script and lazy direction.
