Life (2017)

Overall, we have another classic tale getting a reboot treatment. This is very similar to what we've seen in other 2017 films such as the The Mummy. Did this film do well enough that we will see any returning monsters or main characters again? I personally will welcome the main monsters to return and fight to the death, but the characters here I could live without due to their lack of depth and development. Needless to say, I personally would recommend Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005) film for those seeking a much better story of the big ape himself. - Finesse Movie Reviews

A truly dreadful film all around. Terrible pacing, dialog, acting. Kong is, of course, Kong in all his hugeness (in this version, roughly the size of Rhode Island) - also, quite possibly the best actor in a cast of cardboard characters. Predictable plot lines are swiftly and clumsily executed. Sixties music inserts are the only saving grace. I would have been better served putting on an old Jefferson Airplane album. The clumsy background setup at the beginning of the film should have warned me to proceed no further, but I am a glutton for punishment : and punished I was. I watched this film only because it had a decent Rotten Tomatoes rating : shame on you guys.

Kong Skull Island is a monster of a movie. King Kong needs no introduction, but Skull Island adds a few good changes. For one the giant ape is about ten times as large as its 1933/76/05 versions and the movie makes sure we routinely get to observe him in all its glory. Special effects are dazzling- the scene where the mercenaries first encounter King Kong is mesmerizing, and the actors know what to expect from a film like this and go along, especially John Goodman. This is a brand-new reimagining of a story that everyone knows and yet Kong: Skull Island will leave you pleasantly surprised. All credit to the director Jordan Vogt- Roberts.

Is an entertaining film that in my opinion is much better than Peter Jackson's, that together with the setting in 1973, the war in vietnam, with good special effects and a good cast they make a good movie and in what failed King Kong 2005 is that they lengthened the film to a very unnecessary point, my score: 7.2 / 10
