Now that zombies have taken over the world, the living have built a walled-in city to keep the dead out. But all's not well where it's most safe, as a revolution plans to overthrow the city leadership, and the zombies are turning into more advanced creatures.

I only watched this because I saw a one 1 scene one 1 time years ago on TV when it was randomly on! Right from the start, when they were trying to do something stupid with the Zombies, I knew I probably wasn't going to like it. Also, they call them Walkers at least once one time 1 one time once time in the movie, (I think maybe multiple more than one 1 time times), and it was weird to hear since it wasn't was not on The Walking Dead!

Romero's fourth entry into his undead franchise has the balls and brilliance of its predecessors. The real issue is that it's clear he visions grand plans for the films and unfortunately had to settle on a cheaper production budget that usually works in his favour but Land of the Dead still feels a slight punch above its weight in the production department, yet the social and political commentary on corporate greed and class structure is rife.

It's got jumps! You either like this sort of thing and want to watch it, or you don't and don't ... or you don't and do ... or you do, but ... don't? Considering the director's reputation with most of the population of the developed world, I dunno who would actually be reading this. A film geek? Somebody who figures these reviews will reveal some particular insight, or, somebody who can't afford to get their hands on the movie? Well, at least I can say it's typical George A. Romero. It's Romero on a nice fat budget. From the "Uncut" DVD commentary: there are cameos from Shaun of the Dead, a lead by the daughter of Dario Argento, a bit part by Romero's daughter, the second unit director and stunt coordinator (same person) appearing "in every reel" (Romero's words) and other cheaply attained campy bits. 3/5.
