The King of the Belgians is on a state visit in Istanbul when his country falls apart. He must return home at once to save his kingdom. But a solar storm causes airspace and communications to shut down. No planes. No phones. THIS MOVIE WAS A WASTE OF MY TIME. The plot had so much potential to be good (for a woman turning into a dog that is). The movie pretty much sat around a showed the woman barking and behind the scenes in a f**ked up family. Just towards the end it was catching my attention giving me hope as to the fact that the "b**h" would magically not want to be a household pet anymore. Until suddenly the credits rolled I would get making a scene implying that she wasn't a dog anymore but no they dropped hints that were so subtle and unneeded that it drove me mad. Please never watch if you have any respect for man or his best friend.
Had potential but ultimately quite formulaic and disappointing. It is the mid-1980s and MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton is sent to Berlin to recover a list of double agents. She also sets out to uncover a spy within MI6, one that is responsible for the murder of a close colleague.Had potential, as a clever espionage thriller of the John le Carre variety. Throw in Charlize Theron as a female James Bond and surely this is a recipe for success? Sadly, no.The plot isn't really that clever after all, telegraphing its twists, what there are. Most disappointingly, it is far more an action-drama, rather than an espionage-thriller, and the action is of the usual perfectly choreographed, ridiculous stunts variety.Quite dull, ultimately.
At last, we have our James Bond counterpart. She is great! She is as confident as Xena Warrior Princess, as tender as Wonder Woman, as humorous as Natasha Romanofff, as killer as Nikita, and as beautiful as only Charlize Theron can be! The movie is hard to take with some of the violent fight scenes but we fall in love with a woman who knows how to protect herself when she knows she cannot trust anyone in the room but herself. We worry about her but then we learn she can take care of herself. Her character is equal to James Bond and this movie ends with an open ended opportunity for Charlize and John Goodman to have a long-life protecting their country and entertaining us along the way.
