For anyone wanting a PG-13 action flick but ain't interested in superheroes, Fast Five has got that in spades, with just as much as destruction and hairball cheesiness, and a bit less impossibility. The mindless action is always front and center, yet there's plenty of realness to keep the film from collapsing on its own muscle mass. Each character injects much light into this film, from Roman and Tej's budding bromance to Han and Gisele's budding romance. Plus The Rock being Vin Diesel's foil? Oh, you know it's about to get real! Justin Lin seems to balance what's all in the family with the trouble they cause along the way. While many write off the Fast and Furious franchise as glorifying traffic violations, this installment will have some people embrace the film's absurdity.

The fifth movie in this series is where it really hits its stride. It brings together all the major characters from the first 4 movies into one plot line that largely abandons to street racing angle in favour of a really silly heist plot peppered with several outstanding action sequences. This is a vast improvement because the plot and characters have always been the weak point of this series, so de-emphasizing them in favour of action provides a winning formula. While the action sequences are not exactly realistic, they are grounded in practical stunt work and not a ton of CGI, so they feel more realistic than they have any right to do. This is really top quality junk, and I wish we got more big budget action films like it.

By far and easily the best of the series. Not the best since 1 or 2, oh no no, THE BEST in the series. The whole gang is here, minus Lucas Black and Bow Woo, with the addition of The Rock. Pretty much add the Rock to anything and that gets you a half star. FF has come along way from being just a street racing movie, now it's all about the score. What man wouldn't want to be involved in heist especially with the hot women involved in these. And what girl wouldn't want to hang with Vin, Paul, or Tyrese. We got some guilty pleasure goodness wrapped up in one film. Can't wait for FF6: The Return of Letty! Oops, did i say too much?
