Dedh Ishqiya is a 2014 Indian comedy thriller film. Out from jail, Khalujaan a.k.a Iftekhar (Naseeruddin Shah) and Babban (Arshad Warsi) have stolen a necklace made of royal jewels and are on the run. They part ways and meet at the Majidabad palace, where Iftekhar is competing with Urdu poets to win the heart of the nawab's widow Begum Para (Madhuri Dixit). Her quick-witted and mysterious friend and assistant Munniya (Huma Qureshi) slowly warms up to Babban and they together plot a kidnapping. Khalujaan (Naseeruddin Shah)and Babban (Arshad Warsi), the two romantic thieves are back in Dedh Ishqiya, sequel to the acclaimed and successful Ishqiya with their romantic adventures. And this time love will take them through the SEVEN STAGES OF LOVE... with the beautiful and dangerous Madhuri Dixit as Begum Para and Huma Qureshi as Munniya.

It's story might not win awards for originality, and that aside, Dedh Ishqiya is one of the rare black-comedy/thriller that simply refuses to bend to Bollywood norm and full marks for that! The movie is indulgent in quite a few places, but the brilliant acting, excellent dialogues and handsome execution make this an out-and-out winner you shouldn't miss!

Dedh Ishqiya is a complete film filled with a great script, taunt execution and tantalizing performances from cast derived of master performers!The chemistry between the actors, Naseerudin Shah and Arshad is fantastic. Not enough could be said about Madhuri who makes a sizzling come-back. Huma is good as well. Comparing to the 1st this film is more complicated (mainly due to the extreme urdu dialogues) & hilarious but less darker. If you are looking for comedy, thriller or even romance, this film is for you!

I'm totally with Grishma Udani: Entertaining but, not great A typical caper and cheat story, with an rather unbelievable love chemistry and no strong guy, but the poetry was good. Naseeruddin Shah looks incredibly like Philippe Noiret with his dog eyes. Not comparable to the old classics by any means, the plot, the acting, the scenery, the camera. The camera and dance scenes were pretty cheap, I guess it was shot on digital. The good things: It was in Urdu with a lot of Muslim references, the songs were even sang by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, the nephew of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Madhuri Dixit is still one of the greatest indian actresses, great to have her back, and Huma Qureshi ("Gangs of Wasseypur") is a bombshell, comparable to Jessica Brown Findlay.
