When ambitious young real estate agent Leigh is asked to sell a house with a checkered past, she crosses paths with a disturbed girl whom she believes is the runaway daughter of the couple selling the property. When Leigh tries to intervene and help her, she becomes entangled with a supernatural force that soon pulls Leigh's artist sister Vera into its web - and has sinister plans for both of them.

I don't understand the lack of high ratings and reviews? I loved it. It had me creeped out and uncomfortable throughout. I had no idea what to expect from this one and strayed away from any spoilers and trailers and Im glad I did. Nicholas McCarthy works his magic again and brings us another horror gem that is beautifully directed, filled with dread and unexpected turns and is downright scary. McCarthy is a master at building tension as he has shown in his past work,'The Pact' and here he definitely goes full throttle immersing us in that intensity in the most spontaneous of ways. I can't stop thinking about it and I already want to watch it again. One of my favorite horror films of the year! Watch it with all lights out!
What if you wanted to make a movie but didn't have many resources. You got together with your friends and associates, and without an original idea, decided to make a sort of knock off of Rosemary's Baby. The fact that you didn't have incredible actors, screenwriters, a brilliant director, an amazingly fresh idea and approach to it, or, much money didn't deter you. The important thing was to make your movie no matter the shortcomings. This seems to be just such a movie. If you've seen most everything of interest on the catalog and are hard up for something, anything to see, you might give this one a try.
I don't know why Netflix gave this movie a bad rating. This horror film brings us back to the classic horror days of the 1980s. It's filled with great acting, amazing special effects, and the direction is perfect. I don't see why anyone would not want to see this movie. It's terrific. The ending is decent. It's also shot in the style of the Hunger Games movies. It's cinematography is also brilliant. It deserves at least a first watch by moviegoers.
