Unoriginal as a manifestation of derived tonal shifts such as starting with a "National Treasure" hunt to the mythical "Mummy" to get to the underground "Blair Witch Project" in the catacombs, which is the main event the film wanted to get to already and be all cheesy in pointless clichés that totally faltered the value of the still undecided potential for the eerie tour with a wrong sort of light. Also, the form of the found footage is starting to prove how lost the presentational credibility is nowadays as some or most pale comparisons to how it started.
Awesome idea, and interesting story. Cbaracters are bland and a huge lack of character development. But in my opinion i dont watch a horror to see good characters, i watch it to get scared. Was it tge scariest movie? No. But it wasnt like anything ive seem before, aside from tge cliche found footage style. But i aint gonna knock it for that. Entertaining to watch, and the ending was really cool, could of gone without a specific character dying by a demon vacuum, but hey, not everyone survives hell. One more thing, HORRIBLE dialogue, and also some predictable moments, but that ties together with the character development complaint from earlier.
Yet another found footage style horror with only a few shaky scenes, yet the plot and the setup are new. An archaeology/history theme which really drew me in. The main character is a predictably pixie, tenacious, doe-eyed girl who constantly walks straight into terrors in the name of "ambition". A predictable love angle as well. So,em corniness as well as some angles I feel should have been explored deeper. Instead they were just quick scare tactics that sometimes detracted from the overall plot. But who cares, I'm watching horror to jump. Overall an entertaining thriller that does make you jump a few times and stay invested in the plot. Not too gory!
