Great. The first Appleseed stuff I watched. And now I’m going through everything else. Nice Detailed graphics, especially characters. Quite good facial animations especially for a low budget movie. Good story, Good atmosphere and Baffling glaring aliasing and banding artifacts, which impair the visual experience. It’s quite disappointing to see such things in a CGI movie, when even half-decent video games deal with it properly. The story is rather short and the locations are few. Lot of standing, sitting, walking around but overall a great movie which i enjoyed watching online.
Although sort of conventional. Sound is a bet strange because there was no ambient noises at all, This made it seems like the full movie was happening indoors while in fact it was almost entirely set in an outdoors desert like terrain . What was very impressive was the lip movement. I could actually read their lips perfectly in English !! I want to see the Japanese version to compare and fortunately for you can free download the movie in HD.

There's a lot to take in if, like me, you're not familiar with the history of this franchise. You just have to accept that there's been an devastating third world war, that cyborgs walk among us like it's nothing special and that the two main characters have some sort of rich history together. For what it's worth it's okay, although I have some issues with it like the dialogue which at some points seem to be written by a 12-year old. Another issue is the inconsistencies in graphic quality and the 90's motion capture action. Apart from that it might be a story I want to see more of.

In the original Appleseed movie, Deunan does not know Briareos is alive, and much less a cyborg. In this movie it ignores that completely and goes back to before they even know Olimpus even really exists. How can a director ignore that IMPORTANT part of the saga? My wife, who loved the 1st 2 movies, slept through this one and hated it. She saw the 1st two movies after seeing this one.
