The documentary follows social worker Dan Cohen, founder of the nonprofit organization Music & Memory, as he fights against a broken health-care system to demonstrate music's ability to combat memory loss and restore a deep sense of self to those suffering from it. Rossato-Bennett visits family members who have witnessed the miraculous effects of personalized music on their loved ones, and offers illuminating interviews with experts including renowned neurologist and best-selling author Oliver Sacks (Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain) and musician Bobby McFerrin ("Don't Worry, Be Happy").

Brilliant!!! Conceptually it's just brilliant. Things it feels as tho I've always known, albeit unable to articulate. Well, they do that here just beautifully. Whether one sees this as a scientific exploration into a really interesting phenomenon, or as an emotional jouney that feels unparalleled, this film is way, way worth the investment of time and $. This is a field i have lived with. I lost my Dad to this and I think back now how much Music cheered him up. I wish I had known just how much it would of help his soul and mind. This is good news on every level. I'm excited about learning from this. You never know when you will get the word about one of your loved ones or even yourself. Anytime we have a break through no matter how big or small it counts for tons. I SAY THANK YOU. If you recall " It was written" It was reveled " its getting attention now.

I work with people with memory impairment and their families and Alive Inside is the only movie out there that shows what can be done to enhance the lives of those affected. If you didn't like it then you have probably never come in contact with someone struggling with this disease. The movie is a powerful demonstration of a simple intervention with and IPOD and music. We spend billions on drugs yet the cost of a weeks worth of drugs could buy an IPOD and give so much more joy. Congratulations to Dan and Michael, Alive Inside should be seen by anyone who wants to see the power of music. You have to see it
