A seminal tribute by Dharma Productions to the 1990 cult classic, which is more than a patch to the original mainly due to Sanjay Dutt and Hrithik Roshan's towering performances, gritty landscape embellished with explosive action, memorable preface and a very raw bustling energy not letting up and shines through especially in the twist in that 'Introduction' dialogue. Om Puri and Priyanka Chopra are consumed by the two leading players' intensity as they chew up the scenery. I missed Mithunda a lot in this interpretation but this one shall get spectacular box office success, the earlier film missed 22 years ago.

I don't remember the old Agneepath, so I went in without any preconceived notions of anything to compare this with. The storyline of baddie-killing father and the son taking his revenge may well be old school and recycled endlessly in the 90s, but in this day and age it comes across as something fresh and different from the chocolaty romances around.Hrithik Roshan plays a cold and subtle Vijay, which is in stark contrast to the baddy Kancha essayed by Dutt, who looms like a larger than life character on the big screen, and is the incarnation of pure evil.Overall - enjoyable!
