Action Point proves that even in a mediocre of film, a clean kick to the balls will always make for an enjoyable moment. Johnny Knoxville's latest ride revolves around a struggling local amusement park adopting a no-rules, all fun policy to sustain itself after it's threatened to be closed by the bank. Though the plot shows promise, mostly in part to Eleanor Worthington-Cox's believable relationship with Knoxville as his onscreen daughter, it's very cookie-cutter and could have made for a great film, low-brow gags and all, with a little more effort. Apart from the charm of an alcoholic bear, Action Point doesn't really live up to the promised spectacle of Knoxville's high-concept punching-bag schtick done better in previous Jackass films, but what's given is still good for a solid laugh or two.

Excellent if you went to see a film in the spirit of Meatballs, One Crazy Summer etc.. Or if you're aware that it's inspired by the real Action Park in NJ which was apparently the Tijuana of amusement parks spiced with angel dust. I believe i heard there were a few deaths there to boot and injuries galore. Every tale I've heard of it has been on podcasts which all seem to share or confirm other stories. Anyway. So yes this has Chris Pontius in it (who's hilarious) and no it's not Jackass 4, if that's your reason for hating this movie then you're an imbecile. Fuck the "critic" reviews, most of them like to look down their nose at anything slightly "low brow" while they sniff their own "pianist/english patient/my left foot" farts.

People need to learn to not be so quick to judge. Just because some asscloth on the internet, a newspaper, or television says it's not worth the time doesn't mean you should take their word for it. Everyone's a critic, and critics are stupid, therefore, everyone is stupid.Action Point will be seen as a cult classic someday. Despite what flaws it may have, it's still entertaining, packed with laughs, and sends a message about doing what it takes to show your loved ones how much they mean to you. Forget what this site and other critics say. It's up to the individual what they like or don't like, and if you're listening to the critics, then you're not thinking for yourself.
