The combustible comedic chemistry of Hall and Hart bring so much life to this otherwise formulaic narrative-an adaptation of an adaptation-that the movie feels fresh even while being wholly predictable. But if Hall and Hart steal every scene they are in, that's not to diminish the rest of the cast: The characters may be wholly unsurprising, but they are nonetheless treated with nuance, depth, and vitality. In fact, one reason that Hall and Hart are so compelling is because they are so outrageous, so clearly unreal, while Bryant and Ealy are (at least for me) as recognizable as my own (and my wife's) reflection.

Given It Is Originally A David Mamet Play, Be Aware There Is A Great Deal Of Swearing & Shouting At Each Other, But The Style Works With This Take On It All. It Works To A Point Tho, With A Few Key Scenes Really Very Funny (Or At Least I Found Them A Laugh)..The Rest Is Uncomfortable Or Boring. Even Tho Those Bits Add To It All There Isn't Much More Left To Go On When We Are Doing A Bit Of Story-Line To Shift From One Bit To The Next. In That Sense I Think The Material David Mamet Provides Is Ruined By Self-Abusing & Rude Protagonist Characters Done Quite Poorly.

Surprisingly funny romantic comedy. It is a remake of an older 80's movie (which I haven't seen yet). Kevin Hart and Regina Hall are pretty funny together and have good on-screen chemistry, as long you like the crude kind of comedy. Michael Ealy and Joy Bryant provide more of the in-depth story and insight on today's modern relationships, and the ups and downs they face. Good date movie that will appeal to both men and women. Definitely an R-rated flick, so I don't recommend to watch it with smaller children.
