This was a fun surprise. Had seen it on Netflix, but just the name and picture made it seem very silly. It was silly, but in a very entertaining way. The dialogue was maybe a little forced, but the fun action scenes and cool make up and clothing made up for it. I also loved that it was a movie with many named female characters who where not damsels in distress but warriors of all kinds. It made me so happy to see a movie that featured so many strong female characters that kicked ass through the whole movie.

It takes professionals to translate the freeze-frame action of a graphic novel to the action sequences in a movie, and this is one of those flicks... A Bang Up Fun & Gory Good Time--Post-Apocalyptic Grindhouse Action in it's Purest Form... Good clean fun (OK, leave out the clean part)!!

At some point in the near future, major corporations take over (hey, hasn't that already happened?) raise armies and go to war with each other. As a result, the world is devastated and in the United States a Council of Nine forms and puts a bounty on the heads of white collar criminals. Leggy Kristanna Loken plays the top bounty killer, Mary Death, who roams the wasteland in her Mach 1 Mustang killing rogue CEOs when she isn't signing autographs for her fans. Then a bounty is put on Mathew Marsden's mysterious character Drifter, once the best bounty killer and Mary's former mentor and lover. Chased by corporate assassins and painted-faced "Gypsies (not the Romany types) Drifter and Mary make their separate way through the wasteland to the Council of Nine's headquarters. This doesn't add much to the post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi sub-genre but its good, trashy fun with a sense of humor you do not normally find in these types of pictures as well as the requisite violence.
