i just wanna make you happy..HoneymoonThe scrutiny begins way too early (which is always good if the feature hits hard and fast) and is chewed off through the whole course of it (which is short and works on its favor) until few minutes before the drapes drop that results into coming off as a bit of a hoax for everything nullifies to zero in the end. The screenplay writer-director Leigh Janiak seems like a promising director with enough potential to hold the audience on their edge of the seat. Rose Leslie is decent on performance level along with Harry Treadaway who too is okayish on keeping the objective clear. Honeymoon is a jaw dropping thriller that completely relies upon writing and if it would have had better editing and smarter approach to the concept, the feature would have easily joined the major league.

I've never been much of a Horror fan, but this low-budget film manages to pack in more of a sense of dread than most its big budget counterparts can even dream of and that's thanks to a fantastic couple of leads and, for the most part, a strongly written screenplay that not only has a slow build with increasing terror, but also manages to keep its mystery until the very end. It's only unfortunate that the actual ending felt somewhat rushed and a little anti-climactic, but that should, by no means, put you off as the majority of the film is pretty great.

The first half of the movie is just making out. Nonstop. I get that we need to know that they love each other and they fuck like bunnies all the time so that we'd notice when they stopped, but I found myself wanting to shackle both to chastity belts because holy shit, we get it, you have sex. The second half is just frustrating confusion until the last possible moment, and not in a good way. It's just annoying. Halfway through the movie, my friend turned to me and said, "I bet it's aliens." And we spent the rest of it arguing that it couldn't possibly be aliens, that's lame as fuck, no one uses aliens anymore. And yet.
