This is a ridiculous film pretending to be a deep psychological thriller with drama that's totally staged and acting that's as phony as can be. I'm thinking the filmmakers saw this as some kind of commentary on the gross pathologies of our culture and time, twisted and inhuman in many ways, but it just comes across as manipulative and shallow. Ben Affleck and others seem to be moving through scenes half-asleep, and when they do wake up enough to show emotion it's laughably fake. The final act is absurd and obnoxious. But that fits well with the rest of this insult to an audience's intelligence.

David Finger has really directed some great movies, like Se7en (1995), Fight Club (1999) and Zodiac (2007). And obviously, this one is another one of his accomplishments. It's a psychological thriller that's very intelligent, twisted and even unnerving. Ben Affleck is extraordinary, once again, in this pic and the mystery and tension in the film just keeps building up into a suspense that keeps you watching. But unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the third act, I just didn't like it. But the rest of the flick is so well done that I give it the benefit of the doubt. Impressive movie and recommended !!

Gone Girl one of the Best Film!Great things were expected of Gone Girl seeing as it is directed by one of the finest modern auteurs David Fincher and he delivers. This is a compelling thriller based on the novel of the same name by Gillian Flynn. Gone Girl- the book was ripe for Fincher to adapt and it is easy to see why- the book is filled with unreliable narrative, red herrings and twists. Acting is amazing from the ever-reliable Ben Affleck but it is Rosamund Pike as the missing wife who steals the show. Fantastic lighting reminiscent of Hitchcock, a deeply satisfying narrative and expert execution of the material makes Gone Girl one of the best films of the year and a must watch
