“Mardaani” is a realistic and intense thriller that doesn’t shy away from some disturbing imagery of its harsh subject material. While this movie is pretty tough to watch at times on online, I felt it kept me engaged throughout. I thought Rani Mukerji was great in the lead role and it was a nice breath of fresh air to see such a strong female lead in a Bollywood movie and in free download. I also thought this full movie, for the most part, was very realistic. I thought in its final act, the movie became a little over the top here and there and it took me out of the experience. However, this is a well-made thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat with a truly memorable main character and powerful social message.
Rani was incredible, with her open handed slapping she does that’s got to hurt like hell and humiliate just as much. What a hero she portrays for young women to be inspired by. As the credits role by, every 8 minutes a child is abducted in India, the highest rated sex trafficking country in the world. Rani’s charactrer shows us what it takes to put a dent in their business. You have to be brave and madaani to get it done…. Clapping with tears in my eyes at the end.

I was very curios and a bit sceptical. The material had a lot of red flags, there was never any watchable film about child sex trafficking so far. A young polish cameraman who only shot really bad films, and now an european cameraman in india the country with the usually best camera in the world. The most important producer in India marries a famous actress and then she is making this movie, with her as a new indian Angelina Jolie. Jolie's similar movie was horrible and this one is fantastic. At first, it's an enjoyable genre production with a tough female cop, who likes to joke around and is down to the earth. The child exploitation scenes are not over the top as in the usual morality stories, and even the bad guys are quite charming. What we cannot agree upon is the ending, but I'm sure the un-indian ending was on purpose to heat up the discussion.

In a month of mindless comedies & voyeuristic action movies, Hindi film industry manages to release a gem of a movie - a well written story, brilliant editing, and a cast fit for the purpose. Well done Team Mardaani.
