From a humble background and with traditional values, Irish Chris Wilton is still struggling financially despite being a recently retired high ranked tennis pro. He has taken a job as a tennis instructor at an upscale London tennis club, although he knows there is a better life for him somewhere down the road. He is befriended by one of his students, wealthy Tom Hewett. Chris starts to date Tom's sister, Chloe Hewett, a girl-next-door type who is... immediately attracted to Chris. This movie tries to be Bird Man crossed with The Game and sometimes Fight Club, but falls short, because despite the films message, it never seems to take any risks.The performances are great especially Fran who is fantastic, and despite the narrative cliches it's a pretty original take on an old concept, but the tone always seems to shift and the resolution in the conclusion just seems dumped on you out of nowhere.The score is great as mainly drums and the cinematography especially the tracking shots are really crisp (Birdman like).This movie also felt a little too clean and not gritty enough, the colour pallet should have been a little darker or something, it seemed to clean. This movie was almost a 4 star rating but the ending really dragged it down for me, still the best 2016 movie I've seen in a while

So I sat down to watch a comedy after doing some exercise and to be honest this was hopeless.Meet the Blacks is about a black family that strikes it big and moves to Beverly Hills and then apparently they move to the neighborhood during what is called purge night.Durning this night apparently, you can kill people and get away with it.This my first Mike Epps film and I'm not a fan.The funny thing is its a black comedy kinda like scarry movie with like a dark but comedic edge to it that really was not good at all.The sad thing is that there is going to be a second part to this crap.I would suggest not to bother with this or part 2 when it comes out.Not suitable for the kiddies.

Meet the Blacks is a painfully unfunny spoof of The Purge. Mike Epps tries in the lead role. But his character just isn't likable or funny. The other actors are fine, just not funny. The biggest problem with this film is the script. The jokes don't land. A lot of the humor is just racist. The film also fails at being a parody. The film doesn't really spoof anything. It just takes place while the Purge happens. The story isn't entertaining, but I could've forgiven that if the film landed any jokes. I literally fell asleep towards the end of the film. Overall, this pales in comparison to the Scary Movie franchise and even the A Haunted House movies. And those aren't even good!
