Second film in and I am definitely enjoying this series. A better film overall than the 1st..but still very much a part of the series, so nothing without its predecessor. Jennifer Lawrence is great once again and is very comfortable as both the skilled archer/fighter and the lost girl thrust in to a brutaly governed world. She is believable, always very real, and beautiful to boot. This film had me engrossed all the way through but may have been a bit too long...the early politics stuff slowing the pace a little. Still, when things kicked off I found I was glued to the screen. Nice twist too, that I didn't see coming (still not read the books) Hopefully the run will continue with the final two films.

It's hard to find a sequel to any film that surpasses the first one. Shrek and Toy Story have been successful at it, as well as the Star Wars, LOTR, and Harry Potter series. Now, Hunger Games can join that list. This is one of the most well put together sequels I have EVER seen. The book had less action than the first, so I was worried we would have some slower, romantic, boring scenes, but what we actually received was an action packed, suspenseful tale of triumph, rebellion, love, and friendship. I personally loved it and cannot wait to see the final two films of the series.

It takes a while to get to the actual 75th Annual Hunger Games/third Quarter Quell, somewhere near 81 minutes to be exact. However, Jennifer Lawrence's outstanding performance in the role of Katniss Everdeen once again, thrilling action sequences and political themes as well as the provocation of thought from its source material help make these Games a thoroughly entertaining watch.
