I don't understand the poor rating on this movie. Everyone I know has liked this movie and it's one of my favorite movies! I think a lot of the humor in this film goes over people's heads. A lot of it is physical humor and the way Melissa McCarthy says things and her facial expressions. This movie cracks me up the whole time and I love it! If you haven't watched it, I'd give it a try especially if you like Melissa McCarthy!

I feel like this is the female version of Seth Rogen's "The Guilt Trip". Another falsely advertised riotously laugh-out-loud movie that actually has a pretty decent soft spot for its leading ladies. It won't be funny enough for most & for everyone else won't have nearly enough serious drama. It's sort of stuck in the middle, but I really enjoyed it. Melissa & Susan were great together & in all honesty shared some pretty special moments - both ridiculous & meaningful.

Caught this on cable with the wife, and while I do tend to think that less is more when it comes to Melissa McCarthy (like when she's given what feels like five minutes to restate the same insult to her boss or something over and over again), we both found this fairly amusing. It's always nice to see someone in a put-upon situation get their hackles up and fight back for themselves, which is what most of this is.
