Offering herself as a hostage, Lois Lane is caught in an aerial confrontation between her terrorist captors and the unpredictable Supergirl before Superman arrives to save the day. Deepwater Horizon tells the true story of the oil rig that exploded off the Gulf of Mexico back in 2010. It becomes obvious from the start who was to blame for the disaster as the money grabbing, safety warning ignoring baddie exec from BP played by John Malkovich sits behind his smugness and ignorance as others plead with him to hear out their safety concerns. From here the film builds tension with a serious of creaks, cracks and hisses until the moment Kurt Russell must have thought he was back on the Backdraft set amidst some serious fire safety concerns. The effects are well done and the film does well evoking a feeling of panic as there is a rush to get as many as possible off the rig before the situation worsens.Overall it was a fairly average disaster movie

there should be rules..Deepwater Horizon The second half of the feature is enthralling and filled with high pitched dramatic action sequences that ups the ante of it which was laid down since the beginning of its first half as a slow pill that kicks in later than it should. Peter Berg is no short on execution but the script is the real downer that never had enough crisp to make it in the first place. Mark Wahlberg is investing all his chips in along with a great supporting cast like Kurt Rusell, John Malkovich and Gina Rodriguez. Deepwater Horizon might be informative and factual but it certainly isn't intriguing or entertaining for the audience to be effected by it.

Deepwater horizon is an exciting and gripping story based on a true story. the acting is great. I really enjoyed watching Kurt Russell in this and watching this made me learn a lot more about this event then I had known. It is interesting and the second half of the movie gets really intense with the place blowing up. I felt that the explosions were used effectively and not just for the sake of having a lot of action. My only complaints were, at the beginning I got a little confused and at the end I could not always tell which character was which, but that is just a minor complaint. Overall the was a very good and interesting movie.8.4/10
